Salvador Perez reportedly suffers UCL injury, may need Tommy John surgery
Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez has reportedly injured the UCL in his throwing elbow and is seeking an opinion on the ailment.
According to Jeff Passan, Perez could be contemplating Tommy John surgery, which would end his season before it even begins. If he is indeed going to be out long-term, Cam Gallagher and Meibrys Viloria would be next in line.
Our models currently project Perez for a .252 batting average with 26 home runs, 76 RBI and a .753 OPS in the 2019 season.
