Julio Urias could start season in Dodgers' rotation

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias could start the season in the big league rotation, per manager Dave Roberts.

What It Means:

Urias missed most of 2018 following shoulder surgery but made a few appearances out of the bullpen to end the year. He was expected to start 2019 in the minors, but a strong spring performance could move him into the rotation if Clayton Kershaw were to miss the start of the season. Ross Stripling and Kenta Maeda are Urias' main competition.

Urias has tossed just 27 1/3 big league innings over the last two seasons.
