Twins' Miguel Sano (heel) to be re-evaluated in the next few days
Minnesota Twins third baseman Miguel Sano (heel) will be re-examined by team doctors this week and could see his activity level in spring training ramped up.
Sano is dealing with a wound on his heel and has been limited thus far during camp. The injury is nearly 100% healed, and if doctors clear him in the next day or two, he could participate in a spring training game as early as next week. Sano is currently penciled in as the Twins' starting third baseman in 2019 and is expected to be ready by opening day.
Our models project Sano for 25 homers, 71 RBI, and a .234 batting average in 509 plate appearances in 2019.
