Jay Bruce headed to Seattle as part of Robinson Cano trade
New York Mets have traded outfielder Jay Bruce along with five other players to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for second baseman Robinson Cano and pitcher Edwin Diaz.
Bruce is expected to remain in Seattle for at least the start of the 2019 season but likely won't last long in a Mariners' uniform as they undergo a complete roster rebuild. Bruce is under contract for two more years for $26M.
Bruce batted .223 with 9 homers, 37 RBI, and 31 runs scored in 361 plate appearances in 2018.
