Greg Bird sitting out for Yankees on Sunday
New York Yankees first baseman Greg Bird is not in the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Boston Red Sox.
What It Means:
Bird drew the start at first base and batted seventh in Saturday's game, but will give that spot up to Luke Voit on Sunday against the righty Rick Porcello.
Through 272 plate appearances this season, Bird scored 23 runs, with 11 home runs, 38 RBI and a .199 average.
