Rays' Kevin Kiermaier dealing with hairline fracture in foot
Tampa Bay Rays center fielder Kevin Kiermaier has a hairline fracture in his right foot.
Kiermaier was forced to leave Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees after fouling a ball off his right foot. X-rays later revealed the hairline fracture. Mallex Smith will start in center field on Thursday afternoon versus New York, joining Tommy Pham and Carlos Gomez in the Rays' yard.
Kiermaier averaged 8.9 FanDuel points in 88 games this season, with a .217/.282/.370 slash, as well as 7 home runs, 29 RBI, 44 runs scored, and 10 steals across 367 plate appearances.
