San Francisco Giants infielder/outfielder Austin Slater is playing first base and batting seventh against right-hander Luis Perdomo and the San Diego Padres on Wednesday.
Slater went 0-for-3 with a whiff while manning left field and batting second in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Padres.
