Tampa Bay Rays catcher Michael Perez (hamstring) will not play again this season.
Perez was placed on the disabled list with a left hamstring strain at the end of August and never made another appearance. He played in a rehab game in Port Charlotte on Monday but remains below 100 percent. The Rays have some decisions to make behind the dish, but Perez could have a chance at making the Rays' 2019 Opening Day roster. He turned 26 last month.
Perez averaged 6.8 FanDuel points over his first 20 appearances in the majors. He posted a .284/.304/.392 slash with 1 home run, 11 RBI, and 9 runs scored across 80 plate appearances.
