4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/4/16

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. As always, we will not be including today's game at Coors Field. Coors is obviously tremendous for DFS, but you likely don't need me to tell you that. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles are the most obvious team to stack outside of Coors stacks tonight. They are projected for 4.93 runs -- the highest non-Coors total -- against A.J. Griffin. Griffin has a 3.99 ERA on the year, but his 4.85 SIERA suggests he is pitching way over his head. He's been coming down to earth recently, posting a 6.10 ERA over his last four starts. He's been unable to pitch deep into games recently, not making it out of the sixth inning in eight straight starts.

Griffin has posted pretty even splits in his career with a 4.37 xFIP against lefties and 4.23 xFIP against righties. Baltimore's lineup will most likely consist of three lefties in their top-six, along with Manny Machado and Adam Jones, who both have hit righties better than lefties in their career. Jones, Machado, and Chris Davis are the obvious plays, while Hyun Soo Kim is also an interesting options if he is hitting in the top-third of the order.

If you can't fit Machado into your roster, Pedro Alvarez is an interesting pivot at third base. Alvarez has three homers in his last three games and has elevated his slugging percentage from .328 against lefties to .479 against righties and his ISO from .128 against lefties to .231 against righties.

This game will take place at Camden Yards, which is ranks third in park factor and sixth in home run factor. The Orioles have the fourth-highest wOBA (.347) at home this season, along with the second-highest ISO (.197).
