4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 5/4/16

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. With the split slates, we'll be focusing on exclusively the late slate starting at 7 pm Eastern. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Baltimore Orioles

Last year, you were able to use left-handed pitchers in DFS when they were facing the Baltimore Orioles because the team could not touch them. After a few additions, it seems those days are long gone.

Those bad, bad men are squaring off with New York Yankees lefty CC Sabathia tonight, and it's just not great timing for ol' CC. He has a 4.99 SIERA on the season, by far the highest mark of his career, and well beyond the 4.08 mark he had last year. He has juiced up his ground-ball rate to 50.7%, the highest of his career, but the strikeouts have disappeared, and his control is non-existent. That's not an optimal combo against this lineup at a park as sweet as this one.

The interesting thing about Sabathia's early-season numbers is that they seem to show decreased dominance against lefties. He has faced 19 of them so far this year, and he has walked four while also striking out four. Chris Davis hasn't gotten off to a hot start, but he has a 41.7% hard-hit rate and a 50.8% fly-ball rate on the season. He's a guy you always want on your radar, and when you can snag him at lower ownership at home, it may be time to test whether or not Sabathia can truly still dominate lefties.
