4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 4/23/16

Coming off a huge night, Curtis Granderson is once again a great play. Who else should target for big time fantasy value today?

Building daily fantasy baseball lineups can be intimidating. On any given slate, you have a massive number of options in front of you and a ton of factors to consider.

We're here to help take some of that burden off and break down some hitters who you can slot into your lineup for nice and cheap, while still being well-positioned to provide your lineup with solid fantasy production.

Let's take a look at where we can find value on today's slate.

Ryan Howard, 1B, Philadelphia Phillies

FanDuel Price: $2,600

Ryan Howard may not be the prettiest daily fantasy option you'll ever find. It's been a rough start to the season for the left-handed slugger, but his matchup tonight gives him a big ceiling with a really low salary.

Righty Chase Anderson sported a 4.26 SIERA last season, and his numbers against lefties are unimpressive, having given up a career .347 wOBA.

Howard will be playing on the road at the hitter-friendly Miller Park tonight and has big home run upside.

Joey Votto, 1B, Cincinnati Reds

FanDuel Price: $3,400

Joey Votto has also gotten off to a slow start this year, but that has kept his price low, while he offers elite upside.

Votto has a career .415 wOBA and .229 ISO against right-handed pitching, and he's up against righty John Lackey tonight. Lackey has been slightly worse against lefties over his career, allowing a .327 wOBA.

It's not often you can get a hitter with Votto's credentials for this cheap, and without a worrisome matchup to scare you off, he makes for an incredible play.

Michael Conforto, OF, New York Mets

FanDuel Price: $3,400

Jhoulys Chacin has looked pretty good to start the season, but two games isn't enough to overlook his poor career numbers. He has a 4.21 SIERA through 131 career games, and has been especially bad against lefties, allowing a .336 wOBA with only a 14.6 percent strikeout rate and a 4.49 xFIP.

Michael Conforto has been rolling to start the year, and he matches up well with Chacin, sporting a .378 wOBA and .263 ISO through 225 plate appearances against right-handed pitchers.

The Mets lineup has its fair share of lefties, and with the whole offense being in a good spot tonight, that gives a nice bump to Conforto's ceiling.

Curtis Granderson, OF, New York Mets

FanDuel Price: $3,200

While we're on the topic of Mets lefties that will give Jhoulys Chacin fits, how about Curtis Granderson coming off of a multi-home run and five-RBI game that included a grand slam last night?

Granderson has made a career of crushing righties, with a .369 wOBA and .233 ISO. He has a career 44.4 percent fly-ball rate and 33.5 hard hit rate against right-handers, and Chacin will give him a great chance to show off his prowess tonight.
