4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 4/21/16

Alex Rodriguez has a great matchup at home tonight against Rich Hill and the Athletics. Who else should you target for big-time fantasy value?

Building daily fantasy baseball lineups can be intimidating. On any given slate, you have a massive number of options in front of you and a ton of factors to consider.

We're here to help take some of that burden off and break down some hitters who you can slot into your lineup for nice and cheap, while still being well-positioned to provide your lineup with solid fantasy production.

Let's take a look at where we can find value on today's slate.

Kendrys Morales, 1B, Kansas City Royals

FanDuel Price: $3,300

The Kansas City Royals should be in for a big day offensively against Mike Pelfrey and the Tigers. Pelfrey has a career 4.70 SIERA, by far the highest on the slate, and only sports a 12.9 percent strikeout rate. Things get even uglier if you only look at his splits against lefties. Against left-handed hitters, he's posted a .349 wOBA against, a 12.2 percent strikeout rate, and a 4.95 xFIP.

Kendrys Morales, a switch-hitter, produces fairly well from both sides of the plate, but by far his best work comes against right-handed pitching. He has a career .352 wOBA and .207 ISO against righties.

The Royals also have one of the higher implied totals of the slate at 4.56, and they are definitely a team you want exposure to tonight.

Alex Rodriguez, 3B, New York Yankees

FanDuel Price: $3,300

Sure, Alex Rodriguez isn't the hyper-productive superstar he once was, but he still belongs on your fantasy radar, especially when he's up against left-handed pitchers. He showed last season that he's far from washed, recording a .389 wOBA against lefties, and showing that he'll always be a threat to go yard, with a 44.5 percent fly ball rate, 38.2 percent hard hit rate, and .269 ISO.

He draws a nice matchup tonight against Oakland lefty Rich Hill. Hill has an uninspiring 4.09 SIERA over his career, while allowing a .323 wOBA to righties, with a 44.1 percent fly ball rate, 29.7 percent hard hit rate, and a 4.38 xFIP.

Yankee Stadium has seen the fourth-most home runs hit over the past five seasons, and with today's matchup, A-Rod is a big threat to add to that.

Alex Gordon, OF, Kansas City Royals

FanDuel Price: $2,800

Alex Gordon is another lefty I'm targeting to take advantage of the Royals' great matchup with Mike Pelfrey.

I've already gone over just how awful Pelfrey's numbers are against lefties and how well-positioned the Royals' offense is tonight, and Gordon is no exception. He has a career .348 wOBA and .166 ISO against right-handed pitchers, and while in an ideal work you'd like him batting earlier than sixth in the lineup, that's a small enough hiccup to ignore, especially with the great matchup and low price tag.

Khris Davis, OF, Oakland Athletics

FanDuel Price: $2,500

Khris Davis has huge home run potential tonight, and his salary is only a fraction of that of some of the more celebrated sluggers on the slate.

Against right-handed pitching in his career, he has a .230 ISO, a 40.8 percent fly ball rate, and a 38.5 percent hard hit rate. Those numbers are promising anywhere, but with how conducive Yankee Stadium is to home runs, he's even more enticing.
