3 MLB FanDuel Studs to Target on Tuesday 4/26/22

Just like in other sports, the focal point of your daily fantasy baseball lineups will be your high-salary studs. These guys take up by far the biggest chunk of your cap space, but they also offer the highest ceiling. And in the case of pitchers, the high-salary options typically come with the highest floors, too.

For hitters, we're looking for guys with big numbers, strong matchups, and with players around them that are likely to produce, as well, increasing our chances for runs and RBI. For pitchers, we want big strikeout numbers, while the ability to go deep in a game and pick up a win is also valuable.

With your high-salary picks playing such a big role in your lineup, you need to be right on these guys, so let's take a look at a few top-end options you can count on to anchor your lineup today.

Carlos Rodon, SP, San Francisco Giants ($11,100)

Today's main slate is very unique in the fact that there are a lot of mid-range arms, but not a ton of high-priced aces that we may be overwhelmingly interested in. However, with Carlos Rodon, we get the benefit of a mega ace with a dream matchup -- making it the best of both worlds.

While season-long owners may be a bit skeptical on the southpaw, that's irrelevant for DFS purposes, of course. Rodon faces an Oakland offense in a Bay Area matchup that is putrid. The A's have a .132 ISO and .281 wOBA, all while striking out at a 25.4% rate.

We project him as one of the top starters on the main slate (34.0 FanDuel points), so invest in him with confidence.

George Springer, OF, Toronto Blue Jays ($3,400)

You could live on the wild side and roster Nick Pivetta of the Boston Red Sox, but that is not a chance I'm ready to take.

Pivetta faces a spicy Toronto Blue Jays offense that should be ready to explode tonight. Not only is this Toronto team a juggernaut offense, but they are absolutely loaded with right-handed bats. For Pivetta's career spanning nearly 1,400 total batters faced, the righty has allowed a .475 slugging percentage and 1.70 HR/9 to righties. Yikes.

For me, the usual cast of characters from the Baby Jays are in play here, but George Springer manning the leadoff spot makes a ton of sense tonight.

Will Smith, C, Los Angeles Dodgers ($3,500)

It's a bit confusing how fast Zach Davies has fallen off the ledge of relevance, but man, has it happened quickly.

Even if we pretend that the slow start to 2022 is just a rough patch to begin the year, can we ignore what happened in 2021? Same-sided right-handed bats blasted Davies a season ago, rocking him for 1.65 dingers per nine innings and an ugly .506 slugging percentage.

While Mookie Betts has been struggling so far this year, my money is on backstop Will Smith to have a big night. Smith, too, possesses similar strong splits in this instance. He's hit righties for a 149 wRC+ in his career, including a .563 slugging percentage.

The Dodgers boast a 5.49 implied total and could be in for a big night.
