Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Adds: Week 11

The waiver wire. Free agent budgets (FAB). It's back, it's real and it's glorious.

With the 2021 baseball season in full swing, nailing the waiver wire and the players available are critical to beating out your league-mates in season-long leagues.

Each week we will take a look at players who are rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo leagues and can help out your season-long squads. Remember, if you aren’t scouring the waiver wire, you are falling behind.

Lucas Sims, RP, Cincinnati Reds

Roster Percentage: 18%

The closer carousel is quite the challenging landscape to navigate. If you are looking for saves, Lucas Sims can help you nab a few.

Sims recorded a six-out save Friday for the Cincinnati Reds, and the reliever showcased an impressive slider that's been his go-to pitch this year. In 21 innings pitched, Sims now owns 31 strikeouts to his name.

With two saves in the last week, Sims will likely continue to share closing opportunities with Tejay Antone. He's well worth a look if you're craving some saves.

Avisail Garcia, OF, Milwaukee Brewers

Roster Percentage: 49%

The Milwaukee Brewers are desperate for offensive help, and Avisail Garcia can continue to provide some much needed pop at the dish.

Sporting the league's fourth-worst wRC+ (85) and a 26.6% strikeout rate, the Brewers have plenty of holes in their lineup. Garcia is not one of them. He's smashed 10 homers on the year, including seven since May 8th.

Garcia may be a bit of a drain on your batting average, but his contributions in the other categories should outweigh that.

Jonathan Schoop, 1B/2B, Detroit Tigers

Roster Percentage: 28%

We may be in the midst of a Jonathan Schoop heater, and you need to roster him as soon as possible.

Schoop has cranked a long ball six times in his last eight starts, and he's a big reason why the Detroit Tigers' offense, which previously ranked last in baseball in team wOBA, is swinging upward.

The season-long numbers aren't pretty, but over the last month, Schoop owns a 1.011 OPS. Add in Schoop's roster flexibility, and he makes for an interesting pickup.

Alex Cobb, SP, Los Angeles Angels

Roster Percentage: 26%

Alex Cobb's first three starts of the season were an utter disaster, and many season-long managers casted the hurler to the waiver wire.

But recently, Cobb has turned things up a notch or two. His last performance showed what the righty is capable of -- seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts. His season-long numbers sit at a 3.05 SIERA and 30.1% strikeout rate. Those are excellent numbers for a dude who is available in nearly three-fourths of leagues.
