3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 9/27/19

Juan Soto has one hit in his last eight games and isn't living up to his price tag. Can we avoid him on this 14-game slate?

While we have plenty of pieces geared towards guys you should target in your DFS contests, it's also important to narrow down your shortlist of plays and avoid the suboptimal ones who are overpriced and/or in tough spots.

Let's check out three guys to consider fading on tonight's FanDuel main slate.

Dallas Keuchel, P, Atlanta Braves

FanDuel Price: $9,000

After beginning the season unsigned, Dallas Keuchel has been able to provide stability to the Atlanta Braves' rotation since joining the team in June. Keuchel has a 3.59 ERA in 107.2 innings and has continued to be a reliable starter. However, he has a tough matchup tonight against the New York Mets, who have the 7th highest team wRC+ at 104 and the tenth lowest strikeout rate. Keuchel pitches to contact so you can expect plenty of opportunities for the Mets' power bats to get pitches to put in play.

Consider Michael Fiers ($8,300) as the Oakland Athletics take on the Seattle Mariners.

Max Muncy, 2B, Los Angeles Dodgers

FanDuel Price: $3,900

Max Muncy has proved that last year's breakout was no fluke, hitting 34 home runs from the middle of the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup. Tonight he will be facing veteran righty Johnny Cueto at Oracle Park who has held lefties to a .302 wOBA throughout his career. Oracle Park is also one of the best for pitchers and significantly suppresses home runs. With plenty of alternatives available at the position, leave Muncy on the bench tonight.

Brandon Lowe ($3,200) is a cheaper option with loads of upside in his matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Juan Soto, OF, Washington Nationals

FanDuel Price: $4,000

Juan Soto has had two great seasons in the majors before he could legally buy a beer, but he is in a tough spot against Zach Plesac and the Cleveland Indians tonight. Plesac has reverse splits and has held lefties to a .288 wOBA this season. Additionally, with the Indians desperate to win in order to sneak into the playoffs, they will likely utilize their entire bullpen and force Soto into some tough late-inning matchups. While Soto is one of the game's most exciting young players, he should be avoided tonight.

Marcell Ozuna ($3,400) has a chance to do damage tonight against righty Alec Mills.
