4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 9/11/19
Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.
Premium members can use our stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.
Outside of the game in Coors Field, the Houston Astros lead the way with a 5.75 implied run total. After embarrassing the Oakland Athletics 15-0 on Monday, it was the Astros turn to be embarrassed as they lost 21-7 last night.
The Athletics will be rolling with left-hander Brett Anderson who has been downright awful this season. He has given up a brutal 40.0 percent hard-hit rate along with an 88.8 MPH average exit velocity. In addition, he has a horrendous 11.9 percent strikeout rate and a 5.20 SIERA that is significantly worse than his 4.08 ERA.
Two right-handed hitters stand out on the Astros side of things with Jose Altuve ($4,300) and Alex Bregman ($4,500) having elite matchups this evening. Altuve has managed a .486 wOBA and .376 ISO against left-handed pitchers which is fantastic. Bregman, on the other hand, has put up a similar statline with a .444 wOBA and a .350 ISO in this same split. After these two, we have a very intriguing lefty-lefty matchup. I first need to preface that Yordan Alvarez ($4,400) has just 99 plate appearances against lefties this season but he has smashed for a .407 wOBA And .337 ISO. In addition to those numbers against southpaws, his 11.2 percent barrels per plate appearance rank fourth in all of baseball against both lefties and righties combined. In addition, he has managed a 10th-ranked 92.6 MPH average velocity against both lefties and righties combined.
Be sure to check the lineups page, but if Yulieski Gurriel ($3,500) is in the lineup tonight he brings plenty of power against lefties. He has a modest .329 wOBA but a solid .237 ISO despite a brutal .225 BABIP. A couple of cheaper options to consider are Robinson Chirinos ($2,800) and Jake Marisnick ($2,500).
