4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/8/19

Another day, another slate with the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees lapping the field with massive implied totals hovering around six runs. They're easily the two offenses in the best spots, but are there other places we can turn in tournaments?

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks.

New York Yankees

The New York Yankees are fresh off a dismantling of the Baltimore Orioles where they piled on an absurd 16 homers and 32 runs in a decisive three-game sweep. Leaving the Orioles' collective carcass in Baltimore, the Yankees juggernaut now marches up to Toronto, where they'll try to continue their demolition of the AL East against the Blue Jays and left-handed starter Thomas Pannone.

Pannone doesn't look like the best candidate to slow down the Yankees onslaught, getting torched for a 5.98 ERA over 55.2 innings this season, most of which have come out of the bullpen. Sure, a 61.8% strand rate suggests some poor luck, but his 5.39 xFIP isn't much better, either. This meshes with his season-long projections on FanGraphs, which all peg him for a mid-5.00 ERA.

Furthermore, over his five 2019 starts, he's allowed a 43.1% hard-hit rate and 50.0% fly-ball rate -- and we just saw the kind of power the Yankees flexed against the Orioles. Is there any surprise that New York has a 5.98 implied total?

Against a southpaw, you probably don't need any convincing to roster Aaron Judge ($4,200) and DJ LeMahieu ($4,100) in this spot, followed by fellow righties Giovanny Urshela ($3,500) and Cameron Maybin ($2,900).

Pannone also hasn't been any more effective in lefty-lefty matchups (5.37 xFIP), either, so Didi Gregorius ($3,400) and Mike Tauchman ($3,400) could excel as well.
