FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Saturday 6/29/19

The beauty of daily fantasy baseball is that the top targets are different each and every day. Whether it's the right-handed catcher who destroys left-handed pitching or the mid-range hurler facing a depleted lineup, you're not going to find yourself using the same assets time after time.

While this breaks up the monotony, it can make it hard to decide which players are primed to succeed on a given day. We can help bridge that gap.

In addition to our custom optimal lineups, you can check out our batting and pitching heat maps, which show the pieces in the best spot to succeed on that slate. Put on the finishing touches with our games and lineups page to see who's hitting where and what the weather looks like, and you'll have yourself a snazzy-looking team to put up some big point totals.

If you need help getting started on that trek, here are some of the top options on the board today. We'll be focusing exclusively on the main slate.

Pitchers to Target

High-Priced Pitchers

Justin Verlander ($11,500 on FanDuel): So we've got Verlander and Coors on the same slate. That's going to make every buck vitally important, and it would be nice if we get some unexpected lineup changes to open up some value bats. Verlander is a whopping -300 moneyline favorite for his date with the Seattle Mariners, who sport a 3.63 implied total, the second-lowest of the night, and carry the sixth-worst strikeout rate (24.4%) over the last 30 days. While JV has given up some dingers lately, he's still holding hitters to a .257 wOBA in June with eye-popping clips in strikeout rate (35.3%) and walk rate (3.8%). In a vacuum, he's the best pitcher to play tonight, and our models agree, projecting Verlander for a slate-high 38.6 FanDuel points. But with Coors on the slate and this next guy $2,000 cheaper, JV could go a tad under-owned, making him perfect for GPPs, though rostering him means you're going to have to go fairly light on Coors sticks.
