4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 6/18/19

We aren't exactly short on hitting options tonight, with eight teams showing implied totals above 5.00 runs and 16 reaching at least 4.60. There isn't necessarily any one spot that rises above all others, which could lead to a nice spread of ownership in tournaments.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks.

Cleveland Indians

It's unusual to see the Cleveland Indians with any slate's highest implied total (5.41), let alone on a slate that features all 30 teams in action, which says something about how great their matchup is against Adrian Sampson.

For starters, they get a big park factor boost at Globe Life Park, with temperatures in the 90s on a hot and humid summer night in Arlington, and the 10.5 over/under between Cleveland and Texas is the highest on the board.

But the ideal hitting conditions particularly favor Cleveland against Sampson, who owns a modest 4.53 SIERA and 18.7% strikeout rate while giving up a 44.9% hard-hit rate and 42.9% fly-ball rate. All that hard contact is also reflected in his poor Statcast numbers as he's in the 15th percentile in xwOBA allowed. Although he enjoyed strong starts against the Royals and Athletics this month, Sampson is coming off a shellacking at the hands of the Boston Red Sox and hasn't otherwise put up noteworthy numbers in either Triple-A or the Majors over his career. Public season-long projections on FanGraphs still peg Sampson for an ERA over 5.00 for the rest of 2019.

Switch-hitters Francisco Lindor ($3,900) and Carlos Santana ($3,900) are your best bets for a dinger, with both sluggers owning hard-hit rates above 45% against righties this year and posting ISOs of .255 and .297, respectively, in the split.

After that duo, Cleveland's bats get a whole lot cheaper, with guys like Jason Kipnis ($2,500), Jose Ramirez ($3,100), and Jake Bauers ($2,800) all able to attack Sampson as lefties, too. Ramirez remains one of 2019's biggest disappointments, but he's still putting up a 39.2% hard-hit rate and 45.8% fly-ball rate against right-handed pitching and has also stayed active on the basepaths with 16 steals.

Oscar Mercado ($3,400) is also worth considering as the regular number-two hitter these days. He's showing an encouraging 45.1% hard-hit rate through 112 MLB plate appearances and has 18 stolen bases between Triple-A and the big leagues this year.
