FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Tuesday 5/14/19
Tuesday's main slate goes 12 games deep and is arguably the most pitcher-heavy one in recent memory. As of this writing, 14 of 24 teams have implied totals below 4.50 runs, with six failing to reach even 4.00. However, the Houston Astros are one of the few exceptions, boasting a monstrous 6.08 implied total tonight.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
Chris Sale ($11,400 on FanDuel): Remember when everyone was worried about Chris Sale? The lanky southpaw has now racked up at least 10 strikeouts in three of his last four starts (41.6% rate in that span), most recently fanning 14 against the hapless Orioles. The velocity is finally settling into a more comfortable range, and across his eight starts, he now carries an appealing 3.22 SIERA, 30.3% strikeout rate, and 6.0% walk rate. Given his recent form, those numbers figure to only get better from here, continuing tonight against the road-tripping Rockies. Colorado performs notoriously worse away from Coors, and dating back to last season, their active roster ranks just 28th in wRC+ (83) with a 24.8% strikeout rate. The Rockies have a meager 3.24 implied total, and Sale should contend for the night's highest FanDuel score.
