FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Tuesday 4/23/19

After steamrolling the Orioles for 12 runs on Monday, Yoan Moncada and the White Sox look poised for another big performance on tonight's main slate.

Much like yesterday, we draw another large slate lacking much oomph in the pitching department, but the good news is every single hurler is priced below $9,000 tonight. That means a plethora of coin for your bats, and the menu includes not only Coors Field, but also favorable spots for the White Sox and Astros.

Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.

On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.

Pitchers to Target

Patrick Corbin ($8,400 on FanDuel): It says something when the first guy we're highlighting is pitching in Coors, but that just about sums up this slate. When excluding the matchup, Patrick Corbin is easily the best arm on the board, picking up right where he left off last year with a 2.98 SIERA, 32.4% strikeout rate, and 4.9% walk rate through four starts. But also like 2018, he's allowing a hard-hit rate above 41%, and this season it's come with a much lower ground-ball rate (41.3%). Considering Corbin owns a career 48.8% ground-ball rate, that figures to right itself over the long haul, but it's a still a concern when entering the confines of deadly Coors Field, especially against the likes of lefty-mashers Nolan Arenado and Trevor Story. But the Rockies have struggled against southpaws to begin the season, posting the 27th-worst wRC+ (60) in the split with a 27.3% strikeout rate, giving us hope that Corbin can come through for us. It's a risky move for sure, but given the price and context of the slate, betting on talent isn't a bad way to go.
