FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Tuesday 9/11/18

Paul Goldschmidt and the Diamondbacks offense had a quiet night at the office on Monday, but they get another crack at Coors Field tonight. Who else could be in for a big Tuesday performance?

If you played MLB DFS last night, hopefully you were dialed into Twitter right before lock, as in a truly bizarre turn of events, the game between the Nationals and Phillies was postponed for poor field conditions, not due to Monday's weather, but because a tarp wasn't put over the field when it rained on Friday night. They even tried using blowtorches to dry off the field. You can't make this stuff up.

Naturally, the actual postponement occurred right after lock, and those who were either unaware of the confusing events, or held out hope, were left with a whole bunch of dead roster spots. The Phillies remained so highly-owned across the board, that even some lineups that stacked them were still able to cash. It's baffling such a thing could actually happen, and it's certainly poor form on the part of the Phillies' grounds crew, but it's a reminder that it's always a good idea to keep tabs on last minute news, no matter how set in stone things may appear.

At any rate, let's hope Tuesday's 12-game main slate doesn't have any late surprises for us. Note that while Chris Sale is pitching, he'll essentially be used as an "opener" tonight, so don't get too excited about the low salary. But we still have Jacob deGrom, who should finally get a chance to be unleashed against the lowly Miami Marlins after yet another postponement yesterday. On the hitting side, the Arizona Diamondbacks get the edge between the two Coors teams, while the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, and Oakland Athletics are also in good spots.

Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.

Pitchers to Target

High-Priced Pitchers

Jacob deGrom ($11,800 on FanDuel): After two straight postponements, the third time should be the charm for Jacob deGrom, who draws an enviable matchup against the Marlins. Miami's 84 wRC+ against righties ranks just 25th in the league, and with Sale out of the equation in an abridged start, deGrom owns the best numbers of the slate, with a 2.90 SIERA, 31.3% strikeout rate, and 5.7% walk rate. While the Marlins aren't quite generous in punchouts as other teams we like to attack, they hold the night's lowest implied total (2.60), and deGrom is easily the top arm on the board tonight.
