FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Sunday 9/9/18

With weather looking like it'll be a big factor today, Mike Clevinger is awfully appealing in a Rogers Centre clash with the Blue Jays. Where else should you look on Sunday?

The beauty of daily fantasy baseball is that the top targets are different each and every day. Whether it's the right-handed catcher who destroys left-handed pitching or the mid-range hurler facing a depleted lineup, you're not going to find yourself using the same assets time after time.

While this breaks up the monotony, it can make it hard to decide which players are primed to succeed on a given day. We can help bridge that gap.

In addition to our custom optimal lineups, you can check out our batting and pitching heat maps, which show the pieces in the best spot to succeed on that slate. Put on the finishing touches with our games and lineups page to see who's hitting where and what the weather looks like, and you'll have yourself a snazzy-looking team to put up some big point totals.

If you need help getting started on that trek, here are some of the top options on the board today. We'll be focusing exclusively on the main slate.

Note: weather should play a major role today, so make sure you check forecasts prior to making lineups. Also, the game between the Reds and Padres, which has been moved to 4:10 p.m. EST, is on the main slate while the Pirates-Marlins game has already been canceled.

High-Priced Pitchers

Jacob deGrom ($11,800 on FanDuel): As mentioned in the intro, weather is going to be a factor, and this game is no exception. If rain allows, deGrom is in a dope spot against the Philadelphia Phillies, who have slumped to a .309 wOBA and 22.8% strikeout rate over the last 30 days. DeGrom hasn't posted a single-game swinging-strike rate of less than 10.0% since May 13th, and in the second half, he's limiting hitters to a .232 wOBA while recording a 32.5% strikeout rate and 4.8% walk rate. Our models have deGrom as the day's top arm by a healthy margin, and the Phils' 3.08 implied total is a slate-low clip. As long as the weather checks out, he's the top cash-game play.
