4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/22/18

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks.

Colorado Rockies

Jacob Nix had just a 17.1% strikeout rate in 2017, and a 20.5% mark hasn't done him much better in Double-A this year. So far in the majors, he's managed just a 14.7% mark while issuing a free pass at a 11.8% clip for the San Diego Padres. He's also allowed a 37.5% hard-hit rate this year, and oh yeah -- he'll be pitching in Coors Field tonight.

So far this year, the Colorado Rockies rank seventh in weighted on-base average (wOBA; .332) at home against right-handed pitching.

Trevor Story ($4,700) has built off his success in earlier years to contribute a 44.4% fly-ball rate and 45.3% hard-hit rate in 2018. Nolan Arenado ($4,500) is a bona fide stud, too. He's got a 17.9% strikeout rate, 38.5% fly-ball rate, and 43.8% hard-hit rate so far this year.

From the left side, Charlie Blackmon ($4,200) has a career .410 wOBA at Coors Field. Similarly, Carlos Gonzalez ($3,800) is sitting on a .435 wOBA in his career at home against right-handed pitching.

With David Dahl ($3,700), good things come in pairs and in the form of a matching 37.2% fly-ball and hard-hit rate. Gerardo Parra ($3,500) has a 16.7% strikeout rate and 33.3% hard-hit rate this year while Ian Desmond ($3,300)'s proved that he can flat-out smoke a baseball. He owns a 36.2% hard-hit rate so far in 2018.
