FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Tuesday 8/7/18
Tuesday's 14-game slate follows a similar mold to last night, granting us a fine blend of pitching and hitting. Max Scherzer will be the evening's most desirable hurler, but can we afford him when there's so much offense at our disposal? We get Round 2 between the Rockies and Pirates at Coors Field, along with another hot one in Arlington for the Mariners and Rangers. Usual suspects like the Yankees, Indians, and Cubs also stand out.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
Max Scherzer ($11,900 on FanDuel): Max Scherzer wasn't quite as dominant in July, but after back-to-back starts with double-digit punchouts, it doesn't look like we have a whole lot to worry about. Mad Max still has some of the league's best marks this side of Chris Sale, boasting a 2.71 SIERA, 34.7% strikeout rate, and 6.3% walk rate. The Atlanta Braves aren't a matchup to fear (95 wRC+ versus righties), and they have a slate-low 3.11 implied team total. Really, the only hesitation is Scherzer's high price tag, but we had a similar situation with Trevor Bauer on Monday, and all he did was rattle off 61 FanDuel points on a surprisingly quiet hitting night. If you can fit him in, Scherzer is the way to go.
