3 MLB Prop Bets to Target on 6/19/18

Freddie Freeman is facing left-hander Jaime Garcia. Per our models, how should you bet on Freeman tonight in a lefty-lefty matchup?

Prop betting odds can be useful in daily fantasy sports to help gauge the potential performance of a player on any given night in the MLB. Likewise, the same principles can be applied in the opposite direction -- by using our fantasy projections and models to help make more informed prop bets.

Using the odds available at Bovada Sportsbook, here are three prop bets available tonight that are good plays based on our daily MLB game projections.

Please note that Vegas lines and our game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.

Seattle Mariners at New York Yankees

Domingo German OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-115)

We easily won this same prop bet on Domingo German in his last trip to the hill. German struck out 10 over six innings of work, and he now has 19 strikeouts over his last two starts.

The odds for the over this time around are even better than they were five days ago, and our projections like German's chances of getting six or more punchouts. The Seattle Mariners have a team strikeout rate of only 20.6%, but our models project German to rack up 6.02 strikeouts tonight.

New York Mets at Colorado Rockies

Charlie Blackmon OVER 2.5 Runs, Hits, and RBI (-110)

The battle between the New York Mets and Colorado Rockies is once again going to be garnering a ton of fantasy and betting interest. We cashed a winning ticket yesterday on Asdrubal Cabrera, and our models are high on a pair of Rockies hitters for today.

However, Bovada is offering odds on just one of them, so we'll focus on Charlie Blackmon, who is up against lefty Jason Vargas. Blackmon has hit well against left-handed pitching this season with a .347 wOBA. With strong lefty-lefty splits, our models project Blackmon for 3.24 runs, hits, and RBIs.

Atlanta Braves at Toronto Blue Jays

Freddie Freeman OVER 2.5 Runs, Hits, and RBI (+120)

Freddie Freeman is another left-handed hitter who has been raking against southpaws this season. With Jaime Garcia on the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays, Freeman has a ton of prop betting value.

Freeman owns a .472 wOBA against lefties this year over 109 plate appearances. He has also had a ton of success against Garcia, though the sample is limited. Freeman is 4-for-13 (.308) with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs in his career against the Jays' southpaw. For Tuesday, our models project Freeman for 2.88 runs, hits, and RBIs.
