FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Thursday 5/31/18
For the first time this week, we won't have Coors Field on the main slate, so that means we can be less concerned about the pricing of our favorite pitchers. And wouldn't you know it, Clayton Kershaw makes his triumphant return from the disabled list tonight against the Philadelphia Phillies. But do we trust him enough to spend $11,000 tonight?
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
Aaron Nola ($9,500 on FanDuel): Aaron Nola hasn't put up the eye-popping strikeout numbers of some of this season's top arms, but it's hard to argue with the overall package he brings. Nola holds a cool 3.39 SIERA, 24.6% strikeout rate, and 6.3% walk rate, which is all supported by a 51.9% ground-ball rate and 25.1% hard-hit rate allowed. He may be the underdog against Clayton Kershaw, but the Los Angeles Dodgers have been a middle-of-the-road offense, and are getting just a 3.64 implied team total. Considering Kershaw is coming off a biceps injury and is significantly more expensive, the overall edge goes to Nola in cash games.
