FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Monday 5/7/18
Pitching is limited on this evening's seven-game slate, with one arm standing out above everyone else by a wide margin. Unless you're paying down in tournaments, it's an easy decision on the mound. However, despite the lack of quality hurlers, it's not like we're swimming in hitting hot spots. As of early Monday afternoon, not a single team has an implied team total reaching the 5.00 mark, so scoring could be down across the board. But, hey, this is baseball, so you never know!
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
Stephen Strasburg ($10,000 on FanDuel): In fairness, Stephen Strasburg is the only high-priced hurler, as he's the lone pitcher above $9,000, but he's well worth the price of admission against the San Diego Padres. Strasburg outclasses the day's other arms and is in a tier of his own, sporting an excellent 3.10 SIERA, 28.6% strikeout rate, and 5.8% walk rate, while the Padres continue to be generous in handing out punchouts, leading the league in strikeout rate (27.2%). Really, it's the best pitcher of the day and the best matchup on the board all rolled in one. He's the top overall play, and an automatic click for cash games.
