4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 9/19/17

The Cincinnati Reds take on rookie Jack Flaherty tonight at the homer-happy Great American Ball Park. Does that make Joey Votto and company Tuesday's top stack?

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. Now, let's get to the stacks.

Cincinnati Reds

Although the St. Louis Cardinals are facing a tough climb to make the playoffs, the Cincinnati Reds will try and drive that final nail in the coffin against rookie hurler Jack Flaherty.

Flaherty, in 13 1/3 innings pitched at the big-league level, has struggled to the tune of a 6.08 ERA and 4.79 SIERA, and he has thrown in a 11.7% walk rate to boot.

To go along with those issues, lefties are blasting the young hurler, rocking him for a .431 wOBA and 38.1% fly-ball rate. All three of Flaherty's homers allowed have come to left-handed batters.

Fitting in Joey Votto at $4,200 might be tough, but it's a must this evening. At home with the platoon advantage in 2017, Votto has gone nuts with an 1.156 OPS, .322 ISO, 38.8% hard-hit rate and 38.1% fly-ball rate, including shots like these.

To help fit in Votto, there are two quality cheap left-handed options on the Reds -- Jesse Winker ($2,900) and Scott Schebler ($2,800). Winker has always shown a great batting eye, and with Flaherty's control issues, I would highly suggest looking at Winker and his 12.8% walk rate. He also has a 154 wRC+ against right-handed pitching this season, so he packs a punch when he does swing.
Schebler, meanwhile, has registered a 40.9% hard-hit rate and 41.7% fly-ball rate against righties.

To round out the stack, Scooter Gennett is a little more expensive at $3,200, but he is certainly worth a look. Against right-handed pitchers in 2017, Gennett has busted off a .391 wOBA, 141 wRC+, 37.0% hard-hit rate and 39.7% fly-ball rate. It should be no surprise that 40 of his 48 extra-base hits in 2017 have come off righties.

Toss in the homer-happiness of Great American Ball Park, and it's easy to see why the Reds boast a solid 4.71 implied total.
