MLB Daily Fantasy Helper: Sunday 9/17/17
Corey Kluber has been a cheat code this season, and he's put up a 35.5% strikeout rate and 3.0% walk rate in the second half. He's the top cash-game pitcher, but which other arms make for intriguing tourney options?

The beauty of daily fantasy baseball is that the top targets are different each and every day. Whether it's the right-handed catcher who destroys left-handed pitching or the mid-range hurler facing a depleted lineup, you're not going to find yourself using the same assets time after time.

While this breaks up the monotony, it can make it hard to decide which players are primed to succeed on a given day. We can help bridge that gap.

In addition to our custom optimal lineups, you can check out our batting and pitching heat maps, which show the pieces in the best spot to succeed on that slate. Put on the finishing touches with our games and lineups page to see who's hitting where and what the weather looks like, and you'll have yourself a snazzy looking team to put up some big point totals.

If you need help getting started on that trek, here are some of the top options on the board today. We'll be focusing exclusively on the main slate, which begins at 1:05 p.m. EST and features the first 11 games of the day.

Pitchers to Target

High-Priced Pitchers

Corey Kluber ($12,000 on FanDuel): There's only one cash-game play today, and it's this man. Kluber is just insane. He owns a 34.6% strikeout rate, 4.8% walk rate and 15.7% swinging-strike rate -- which rank second, fourth and first, respectively, among qualified starters. In the second-half, Kluber has recorded a 35.5% strikeout rate and 3.0% walk rate. He's got a home date with the Kansas City Royals, a team that sits 24th in season-long wOBA (.313). Yes, Kluber is super expensive, but in cash games, plug him in and build from there. Our models have Kluber as the slate's top arm by 4.0 FanDuel points, and Kansas City's 3.03 implied total is a slate-low mark by a significant margin.
