3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/24/17

The Los Angeles Angels get a dope matchup with struggling lefty Martin Perez, putting the Halos' right-handed sticks in a great spot. Which other offenses can we look to stack tonight?

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks.

Los Angeles Angels

The greatness that is Mike Trout may get to make a postseason appearance, and his team will look to keep pace in the wild card race against the Texas Rangers and starter Martin Perez. Perez has really struggled this year to the tune of a 5.10 SIERA and 34.6% hard-hit rate allowed while also recording a pretty mediocre 14.6% strikeout rate.

Righties have been particularly troublesome for Perez, posting a .368 wOBA against him. To make matters worse, he faces a hot Los Angeles Angels offense, which ranks seventh in wOBA (.363) over the last week.

While Trout certainly deserves a lot of attention, Cameron Maybin should be atop the order for a team with a solid 4.38 implied total, and dude is only $2,600. Maybin has a 34.6% hard-hit rate against southpaws, and his legs (27 steals) give him nice upside.

To finish out the stack, C.J. Cron ($3,000) doesn't make for a bad option. He owns a .366 wOBA against lefties with a 34.2% hard-hit rate and 51.2% fly-ball rate in the split, and he's tallied 5 homers already in the month of August.
