4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/23/17
A seemingly rejuvenated Yankees offense gets to face Jordan Zimmerman of the Tigers tonight. Is that enough to make them the top stacking option in daily fantasy baseball on Wednesday?

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks.

New York Yankees

The Bronx Bombers head to the Motor City to try and make up some ground in the American League East, and Jordan Zimmermann seems like the perfect opponent to help them start climbing back toward the Boston Red Sox

With a 5.18 SIERA, 15.2% strikeout rate, and a soft-hit rate allowed mark of just 13.9%, it hasn't been a good year for Zimmermann. Usually pretty adept at limiting the long ball, he's allowing 1.73 homers per nine innings this season.

And if there's a dude that can sock the long ball, it's the New York Yankees' catcher, Gary Sanchez.

Including the two he hit last night, Sanchez now has 25 homers in 2017, and this is a situation where he could add to that total. At home versus righties this year, Zimmermann has allowed a whopping 1.80 homers per nine innings pitched.

The right-hander's batted-ball profile makes him an interesting target against left-handed hitters, too -- they've socked him for a 40.4% hard-hit rate and 42.5% fly-ball rate. With this in mind, check out Brett Gardner ($3,400) and Didi Gregorius ($3,100).
