4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 6/6/17

The New York Mets may be better than their public perception, and they get a great matchup tonight. Are they the top team to stack on the board?

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks. As always, we will not include today's game at Coors Field in these recommendations. Coors is great for offense, but you likely already know that. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

New York Mets

It's Dillon Gee's revenge game as he gets his first career start against the team that drafted him back in 2007. Unfortunately, the New York Mets are a better offense than their perception, and Gee's numbers in Triple-A make it seem like we should be favoring his former teammates.

You wouldn't know it based on their record or league-average wRC+, but the Mets rank well in important categories against right-handed pitchers this year. They're fifth in hard-hit rate, second in fly-ball rate, fifth in walk rate, and have the fifth-lowest strikeout rate. That's what Gee will face as he makes his first start in the majors of 2017, meaning it's no small task. Gee struggled a bit before his call-up, posting a 4.57 xFIP with a 19.6% strikeout rate, 5.9% walk rate, and 41.9% ground-ball rate in Triple-A. Those are all less than impressive while facing weak competition, leading us to check out his potentially underrated foes.

Given the pitching options on tonight's slate, you're going to want to find as many value bats as you possibly can. The Mets are more than willing to oblige with guys like Asdrubal Cabrera and Lucas Duda. Cabrera has been batting second recently and costs just $2,800 at shortstop on FanDuel. You'll take that for sure in this park and matchup. Duda came off the disabled list on May 12th and has been mashing ever since.

That's one of the six home runs Duda has launched in his past 11 games, including Friday night when he lived up to the "Double-Dong Duda" billing. Overall since rejoining the team, Duda has a 49.2% hard-hit rate and 41.0% fly-ball rate, and he'll run you just $2,900. There are solid value plays at first base tonight, and Duda is absolutely one of them.
