4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 5/12/17

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. As always, we will not be including today's game at Coors Field in these recommendations. You likely already know you want exposure to bats at Coors, and you don't need us to tell you. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Oakland Athletics

Andrew Cashner's devil magic is bound to dry up eventually, right? Right. It ain't easy to have a 2.63 ERA when you're walking 16.2% of the batters you face, exactly what Cashner has done this season. That luck has to run out eventually, and the Oakland Athletics could bring all the regression in one swoop.

On top of the lofty walk rate, Cashner's strikeout rate sits at 12.8%. That's the one bugaboo in the A's offense this year. They're drawing a 9.7% walk rate against righties, and they rank near the top of the charts in both hard-hit rate and fly-ball rate. That's all on top of their sizable park-factor boost at a spot much more conducive to dingers than their home crib. There really aren't any legit reasons to avoid Oakland here.

The A's switched up their lineup for Wednesday's game, and it quickly jacks up the appeal of Ryon Healy. Healy slid into the two hole, a promotion he earned by spanking the ball with a 44.0% hard-hit rate and 49.0% fly-ball rate over the past three weeks. Those improvements have shone through in his results.

The only problem with Healy is that he's a first baseman on FanDuel, meaning you can't use both him and the equally-Gucci Yonder Alonso in the same lineup. Both are great plays, so it's more just conflicting than anything. Toss in your preferred choice there with Khris Davis, Jed Lowrie, and Rajai Davis, and you'll have yourself a low-cost stack with plenty of upside.
