4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 4/19/17

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. We'll be focusing exclusively on the main slate beginning at 7 pm Eastern. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

New York Yankees

On a day where we need to find ways to pay up for Clayton Kershaw and Madison Bumgarner, the New York Yankees provide a guiding light. They've got some value sticks available, but they're also swinging it well entering a matchup against Dylan Covey.

Covey made his big-league debut last week, and the results weren't bad with just one run against him over 5 1/3 innings. However, that came with just a 3.3% swinging-strike rate as he walked three batters and struck out one. No matter how many ground balls you generate, those plate-discipline stats are going to lead to a ton of baserunners, and it means we need to go back to stacking against Covey again.

With a low-strikeout pitcher on the bump, the Yankees become a delightful option as it lowers the concerns around Greg Bird and Aaron Judge. They -- along with Starlin Castro and Matt Holliday -- could make for a cheap middle-of-the-order stack with decent batted-ball stats against righties this year.

Holliday's numbers won't wow you, but he's a powerful bat in Yankee Stadium. Pairing him with the other three can put you just a few value plays away from being able to afford your aces.
