3 MLB FanDuel Hitters to Avoid on 9/13/16
Jayson Werth is up against Noah Syndergaard on Tuesday. What other hitters are in a tough spot?

As is the case in most daily fantasy sports, finding information on players you might want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

While you can get away with a zero from a hitter in daily fantasy, you certainly don't want to target guys whose matchups aren't enticing.

Here are three hitters you may want to lessen your exposure to or even fade altogether on Tuesday.

Jayson Werth, OF, Washington Nationals

FanDuel Price: $3,600

Jayson Werth broke an 0-for-10 streak on Monday with two runs scored and a stolen base, but tonight he is going up against Noah Syndergaard. For his career, Werth is 2-for-16 against the Mets’ ace with a 31.2% strikeout rate.

Overall, Werth owns just a .300 wOBA against righties this season while his ISO drops to .148 and his strikeout rate climbs to 23.3%.

Syndergaard has been superb against everyone, but he's been close to lights out against right-handed hitters. Righties have a .258 wOBA and 29.7% strikeout rate against him this season.

Coco Crisp, OF, Cleveland Indians

FanDuel Price: $2,700

Coco Crisp was in a huge downswing before coming over to the Cleveland Indians, and even though he had a great debut with the Tribe, he hasn’t done much sense. Tonight, that trend will likely continue as the Indians take on Jose Quintana.

While Quintana has been excellent against left-handers, Crisp, a switch hitter, will be turning things around from the right side. The problem is he hasn’t been great from that side of the plate, either. Against southpaws this season, Crisp has a .252 wOBA and 23.4% hard-hit rate versus lefties, so there is even a chance he could sit this one out.

Quintana has been good against righties this season, limiting them to a .299 wOBA while posting a solid 22.4 strikeout rate.

Yonder Alonso, 1B, Oakland Athletics

FanDuel Price: $2,400

Yonder Alonso has not posted great numbers this season in Oakland, but with the release of Billy Butler, Alonso may play close to every day at either first base or designated hitter. Tonight, however, he has a tough matchup against Danny Duffy.

Duffy has been devastating against lefties this season as they own just a .201 wOBA with a 37.6% strikeout rate. It's not just a one-year things, either, as lefties have just a .253 wOBA against Duffy over his career.

Alonso has just a .283 career wOBA and .091 ISO against left-handers. This season, he hasn’t played much against lefties, but the results aren’t great when he's been in there. In 64 plate appearances against southpaws, Alonso owns a .215 wOBA with only two extra-base hits.
