4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/25/16
The Seattle Mariners are always a fun option, but they get a park boost and a delicious matchup today to spice things up.

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks. With the split slates, we'll focus exclusively on the main slate beginning at 7 pm Eastern. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Seattle Mariners

If we had a stacking checklist, the Seattle Mariners would be spewing ink all over that bad boy today. They get a park factor boost in going to U.S. Cellular Field, they're facing a struggling pitcher, they themselves are a tremendous offense, and Vegas loves them with an implied team total of 5.25. The Toronto Blue Jays may be the more popular stack today (more on them in a second), but the Mariners deserve to be right up there.

Anthony Ranaudo's up to 69 career innings in the big leagues, and things just haven't quite clicked yet. His SIERA is 6.00 -- moving up to 7.29 through 14 1/3 innings this year -- with a 10.6% strikeout rate and 11.9% walk rate. He's got a swinging-strike rate of 5.2%, so we can buy into the lack of strikeouts, and his 37.6% zone percentage this year means that walk rate is sustainable. You hope that he eventually turns things around, but facing the Mariners' offense is not generally a recipe for improvement.

There's a possibility Nelson Cruz and Kyle Seager could miss tonight's game with injuries. That would be a bummer because both would be fun for this stack, but it could also lead to boosts in the order for Adam Lind and Mike Zunino. Zunino's price has justifiably started to rise, but Lind's still chilling down in the bargain bin.

He probably shouldn't be.

Lind's the type of guy you always want to target in a dinger-friendly park with his 40.8% hard-hit rate and 37.7% fly-ball rate against righties. Even if he's batting lower, he's a quality option, but he becomes an auto-roster if he hits fifth.
