Billy Butler, 1B, Oakland Athletics

FanDuel Price: $2,700

Billy Butler hasn't been a dominant fantasy force this season by any stretch, but in a situation like he finds himself tonight, with a very low price-tag and a good matchup, he can still offer solid value.

He's up against Jeff Locke tonight, who is having the worst season of his career, posting a 5.21 SIERA with a 12.1 percent strikeout rate. Right-handed hitters are beating up on Locke to the tune of a .357 wOBA, 5.14 xFIP, and 32.7 percent hard-hit rate this season, and that's a good sign for Butler.

Butler is having a down year but is still making some great contact, with a 36.8 percent hard-hit rate that sits as the second best of his career. Despite his struggles this year, he is still putting up some solid numbers against left-handed pitching, with a .321/.381/.482 slash, a .365 wOBA, .161 isolated slugging and a 12.7 percent strikeout rate.

It's hard to get overly excited about playing a guy like Butler, but what he does for you tonight is offer very solid value.
