David Freese, 1B, Pittsburgh Pirates

David Freese is having one of his best years from the plate in recent memory, sporting a .348 wOBA and .151 isolated slugging through 69 games. He has done especially strong work against left-handed pitching this year, posting an impressive .340/.407/.547 slash with a .408 wOBA and an absurd 51.4 percent hard-hit rate. This shouldn't come as much of a surprise, as he's always done his best work against lefties, with a .364 career wOBA compared to a .328 against right-handed pitching, and it puts him in a great spot tonight against Wade Miley.

Miley is coming off of a 2015 campaign in which he posted a 4.24 SIERA, his worst since his rookie season in 2011, and has followed that up by starting this season with an even worse 4.54.

His 2015 numbers against right-handed hitters weren't great, a .331 wOBA with a 4.19 xFIP, and they've gotten worse this year, with a .341 wOBA and 4.49 xFIP. Freese hasn't given lefties a lot of room for error this season, and Miley's struggles make this a great matchup.
