5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Studs to Target on 6/21/16
Noah Syndergaard takes on the Royals at pitcher-friendly Citi Field. What other high-priced players are worth the investment?

Jose Fernandez, P, Miami Marlins

FanDuel Price: $12,000

Jose Fernandez checks in as our second-ranked pitcher for his inviting home matchup against the Atlanta Braves, who have an implied total of 2.72 runs, the day’s lowest mark. His price tag, however, makes him slightly less attractive as he’s significantly more costly than some other top-end arms. Fernandez should put up huge numbers tonight, but you’ll have to pay for the safety of his clash with the punchless Braves.

Atlanta has swung it better of late, but the Braves still rank 29th in wOBA (.278), last in homers (32) and last in ISO (0.97).

Fernandez has been dominant this year, posting a 2.52 SIERA, 37.5% strikeout rate and 7.9% walk rate. He’s been out of his mind in June, recording a 45.8% strikeout rate without issuing a walk over 13 frames this month. Marlins’ Park ranks next to last in home run factor, per ESPN’s Park Factors, and Fernandez is limiting hitters to a .240 wOBA in his home starts this year.
