Jonathan Schoop, 2B, Baltimore Orioles

With Manny Machado out serving his four-game suspension, there are going to be some changes in the Baltimore Orioles' batting order. Jonathan Schoop could be one of the guys who benefits.

Schoop slid up to the two hole on Saturday for only the second time all season, reflecting the tear he has been on recently. Over the past two weeks, Schoop's hard-hit rate is up to 41.0%, and he has cut his strikeout rate to 17.6%. Those are numbers that would work even if he ended up hitting sixth again, and there's a possibility he could be higher.

The Orioles are facing lefty Derek Holland, who pitches much better at home but still struggles against right-handed batters. Holland's 12.3% strikeout rate versus righties this year is the lowest of his career, and it comes with a 32.5% hard-hit rate and 46.8% fly-ball rate. That would seem sub-Gucci against a guy who can do this.
