Nathan Eovaldi, New York Yankees

Yahoo Ownership: 40%
ESPN Ownership: 45%

A 13-2 record is what most see with Nathan Eovaldi. His 4.24 ERA is not spectacular, but his 4.01 SIERA and 3.82 xFIP indicate that Eovaldi is pitching a little better than his basic numbers indicate. He gets two starts this week against the Astros at home and Braves in Atlanta.

The Astros have a powerful lineup that should scare most opposing pitchers -- at home. Houston’s team on base plus slugging (OPS) on the road is 77 points worse than at home. That drop is influenced by a 61-point decrease in slugging percentage in games away from home. The Astros have not hit for average and own the third worst in baseball playing away from Minute Maid Park. Houston also has a 3.13 strikeout-to-walk ratio and have struck out 526 times, tied for sixth most in baseball.

The Atlanta Braves have managed a mediocre .252 average at home but own the worst slugging percentage and fifth worst OPS. Three Braves on the current roster have a slugging percentage over .400 (minimum 100 at-bats). The Phillies (1.6) and Brewers (2.6) are the only teams with a lower batting WAR than Atlanta’s 2.7. The Braves have been at or near the top in groundball-to-fly ball ratio (G/F) for majority of the 2015 season. They currently have the second highest G/F at 1.05.
