Brett Oberholtzer, Houston Astros

The Houston Astros have their fingers crossed, hoping that the blister issues that Brett Oberholtzer has been battling are over. He makes only his second start of the 2015 season Monday against the Baltimore Orioles in Houston.

The O’s are averaging a meager 3.5 runs per game in 22 road contests this season. As a team, Baltimore is in the bottom third in baseball in road batting average, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage (.668 team on-base plus slugging percentage, 22nd in the Majors). The Orioles’ 0.96 groundball-to-flyball (GB/FB) ratio is sixth highest in the league and a welcome sign for Oberholtzer. He possesses a career GB/FB ratio of 0.86. Baltimore is in the middle of the pack in home runs-at-bats, another plus for the pitch-to-contact lefty.

The current Orioles roster holds a .147/.176./.324 slash line with one run scored in 34 at-bats against Oberholtzer.

Oberholtzer also gets to face the Toronto Blue Jays north of the border Saturday. Avoid that matchup at all costs, as the Blue Jays are tied for the lead the Majors in runs scored at home with the Dodgers and have played in two fewer games than L.A.
