Chris Sale, SP, Boston Red Sox

FanDuel Price: $9,900

With 18 strikeouts combined in his last two outings, it's fair to ask if ace Chris Sale of the Boston Red Sox is finally starting to round back into form. His price-tag, sitting just under $10k, seems to be accounting for that.

Sale faces a Chicago White Sox lineup that strikes out a lot -- but a quiet little secret is that they have acquitted themselves well in 2019 against southpaws. They own a team wOBA of .320 (13th), and five members of the offense have a wOBA greater than .360, led by James McCann.

While the winless Sale has improved, it's his command that still seems off -- in fact, covering those last two starts, Sale posted his lowest first-pitch strike rates of the year, notching marks of 63.0% and 68.2%, respectively.

Facing the White Sox is certainly appealing, and the White Sox implied team total of 3.42 runs all but assures he will see heavy ownership. But to spend up at pitcher, a different direction seems wise.
