It's hard not to like getting cheap exposure to the Atlanta Braves tonight. They draw a juicy matchup against San Diego Padres southpaw Nick Margevicius, and their 5.02-run implied total is a slate-high mark.

Margevicius has made five starts in his rookie year, and while he hasn't been terrible, a 4.19 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) is nothing to write home about. That's the only sample we have for him at anything except the High-A level, so it's hard to draw any real conclusions from his stats. But in High-A, he had a 24.2% strikeout rate, so we can expect his 22.8% strikeout rate in the majors to take a hit, as the difference in competition should lead to a bigger drop-off than that.

The Braves are also just a tough matchup for any pitcher, ranking fifth in the majors in wRC+ so far.

Johan Camargo is one of the less dangerous bats in the Braves' lineup, but that's why we're getting him on the cheap. His .289 wOBA in 2019 is also not a huge concern because it comes with a .283 batting average on balls in play (BABIP), which is well below his .315 mark from last year and his .328 career-average.

His hard-hit rate (34.0%) and soft-hit rate (14.9%) are both better than his career averages, and he's also sporting a 42.6% fly-ball rate, so his contact hasn't been a concern at all. And with a career .337 wOBA and .173 ISO, the switch-hitter has plenty of potential against Margevicius.
