5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 4/10/19
Brandon Nimmo will likely bat leadoff with the platoon advantage on Wednesday. Does that make him worth a play despite his slow start to 2019?

Robbie Grossman, OF, Oakland Athletics

Price: $2,800

Robbie Grossman has been batting leadoff against righties for the Oakland Athletics, and it's hard not to like getting a price tag this low on a leadoff hitter against the Baltimore Orioles and Dan Straily.

The Orioles brought in Straily after he struggled to a career-worst 4.92 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) in 2018, giving up a huge 46.9% hard-hit rate with a 42.4% fly-ball rate. He has made only one appearance so far this year, and he got thrashed for 5 earned runs (including two homers) in only 1 1/3 innings.

The switch-hitting Grossman has struggled to start 2019, but he posted a serviceable (if uninspiring) .329 wOBA last year. He has also made his best contact against righties over his career, and in 2018 that included a 33.6% hard-hit and 38.1% fly-ball rate.

Those numbers aren't especially interesting on their own, but he's poised for a healthy number of plate appearances tonight, and the potential for runs and RBI against Straily and the O's makes him well worth the cost on Wednesday.
