With three of our six top-projected pitchers not on tonight's main slate (and with one of three that are pitching are doing so at Coors), Wednesday's stud pitching options aren't quite as plentiful as they may look on the surface.

That doesn't take anything away from Aaron Nola, though. His 3.41 skill-interactive ERA, 26.6% strikeout rate and 12.1% swinging-strike rate are not top-tier marks, but they are all very solid, and are more than enough to put him in play in a decent matchup.

Just looking at teams' active rosters, the Washington Nationals rank a middling 14th in wRC+ against right-handed pitching this season. Their 3.28 implied total is also the main slate's lowest, making Nola a fairly safe play tonight.
