With a game between the Diamondbacks and Rockies at Coors Field, and popular offenses like the Red Sox and Yankees showing high implied totals, the Angels aren't a team that's likely to garner much attention in spite of a good matchup against Adrian Sampson (4.91 implied total). Throw in that two of the most popular pitchers could also be the priciest ones (Jacob deGrom and Mike Foltynewicz), and this might be a night Mike Trout goes lower-owned as the most expensive bat on the board.

But if you're fading some of these chalk offenses, Trout and the Angels make for an intriguing contrarian stack. Sampson posted a mere 4.35 FIP and 15.8% strikeout rate in Triple-A this year, and although he has a minuscule five-inning sample size in the Majors, the results haven't been kind (10.80 ERA).

None of this sounds like a pitcher who is going to be able to handle Trout, who naturally has ridiculous numbers from every angle, including a .445 wOBA, .303 ISO, and 44.0% hard-hit rate. It's always easy to forget that he also adds points with his legs, too (22 stolen bases), adding yet another layer of upside.
