Ian Kinsler, 2B, Boston Red Sox

Price: $2,600

In past years, even when Ian Kinsler's production wasn't anything special, we could generally count on him to put up good numbers against southpaws. He hasn't finished with a wOBA below .324 against lefties in any of his 12 full Major League seasons, and his worst wOBA in the split in the last three seasons is a solid .345. This year has been a different animal, though, as he owns an egregious .219 wOBA against lefties.

That's obviously not an encouraging number for fantasy, but there is still some reason for optimism here. He's sporting a meager .219 batting average on balls in play (BABIP) against southpaws, when his previous career worst in the split was a .257 BABIP (in 2006), while his career average sits at. 303. His 29.3% hard-hit rate with the platoon advantage isn't far from his 31.6% career average, so we should see his production bounce back a bit.

Tuesday finds him in a particularly good spot for that. Toronto Blue Jays lefty Ryan Borucki will take the mound, and he hasn't looked very good at either the Triple-A or MLB level this year. In 13 Triple-A starts, he posted a 4.17 xFIP, and in his 13 Major League starts, he has an awful 4.96 SIERA.

The Boston Red Sox have a strong 5.33 implied total, and Kinsler is a good way to get cheap exposure to their offense.
