3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 8/28/18

With hitter-friendly temperatures affecting quite a few games tonight, along with a slew of exploitable pitching matchups, we have a lot of high implied team totals, including three offenses in the neighborhood of six runs (Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox).

For that reason, some of the evening's other top spots figure to go lower owned, including perhaps the Milwaukee Brewers, who are seeing "just" a 4.97 implied total in a matchup against Anthony DeSclafani. DeSclafani is allowing a ton of hard contact this year (41.3%), and he's particularly struggled against lefty bats, surrendering a 6.13 FIP and .361 expected weighted on-base average (xwOBA) in the split.

Christian Yelich and Travis Shaw are naturally great choices to exploit this matchup, but with Mike Moustakas batting sixth, he figures to go the lowest owned of Milwaukee's lefty trio. Moustakas continues to show imposing marks against righties, producing a 44.7% hard-hit rate, 48.7% fly-ball rate, and .241 ISO. Throw in hitter's haven Great American Ball Park, and we can't underestimate the Brewers' chances of coming through as one of the top offenses on the night.
